For us and our customers, we realize that continued growth cannot happen without continued innovation. This is why Standard Electric Supply Co.’s long-running Quality Management System allows for every associate to contribute to our ongoing search for process improvements that continually improve the quality of our service to our customers.

In 1997, Standard Electric received its ISO certification to be used as its framework for continuous quality improvement for the company. Since then, our Quality Management System has created a quality-driven environment and encourages associates to be involved in the development and improvement of daily procedures.

Maintaining Excellence through ISO 9001:2008
At Standard Electric, ISO 9001:2008 is more than a certification — it’s the way we do business. Our Quality Management System ensures that you receive consistent, reliable services. Any events that fail to conform to our quality standards are reported. Solutions are then implemented to not only prevent the events from recurring, but to continuously improve our service. We meet with our customers on a regular basis to discover and respond to their changing needs and industry trends, and to identify areas for improvement in our services.

Developing New Solutions
At Standard Electric, our associates never stop searching for new ways to improve our approach to doing business, and in 2014, we reviewed 135 of them. Every idea submitted through our Quality Improvement Incentive Plan is acknowledged, and those that we implement are further recognized and rewarded at an annual event. The result? Each year we implement numerous ways to improve our business and service, all suggested by our associates.

Additionally, our Standard Electric managers who are responsible for our systems and processes spend two days at a Strategic Planning Retreat each year. This allows our organization to focus on new actions that we can implement to provide our customers with the best possible solutions. Once identified, these actions become part of our yearly strategic plan. Our associates then meet monthly to review our plan progress.

Tracking Improvements
Under the guidelines of ISO, Standard Electric has implemented a system for reporting and resolving any Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) within the company. These occurrences are entered into a database and evaluated monthly to determine and implement an effective resolution. By identifying actionable improvements to our processes, we are able to ensure that every new experience with Standard Electric is your best experience yet.
