Meet… Angela Anderson!
What would you name the autobiography of your life? Why?
The title would be “If I Could….” I’m always looking outward and say “If I could. . . . . .” because I want to change something about myself.
What’s your favorite outdoor activity? Why?
Bike riding is my favorite outdoor activity because of the available options, and I like the scenic views. Plus, the terrain is both challenging and rewarding. It’s good exercise and just 15-30 minutes through the neighborhood with the sun and wind in my face after a long day is therapeutic.
Ten years ago, are you where you thought you would be now?
Ten years ago, I knew change was needed and required. I was being shaped and prepared. While I didn’t have the foresight, I knew then that “everything will be alright”.
Who inspires you? Why?
My mother was my greatest inspiration. She looked for the good in everything and everyone. I’m learning the beauty of that powerful trait. I’m inspired daily when I hear news that’s rewarding and exciting for others.
What are you currently watching on Netflix/Some other streaming service?
Suspense/Thriller movies. I love trying to figure out all the plot twists, turns and whodunits throughout the movie.
What is your personal philosophy? How has this guided you?
My personal philosophy is that I’m always at the very least 50% responsible, which has help me to avoid the natural reaction of blaming others. Likewise, it challenges me to consider if I’m a part of the problem or a part of the solution.
What is the one thing, you can’t live without? Why?
I need junk food - cookies, potato chips, ice cream, chocolate, etc. Even if it’s not a “healthy” choice, I like to keep some junk food within reach just in case. 😊
What is your favorite part of working at Standard Electric? Why?
I appreciate how Standard Electric has been and continues to be successful, and that we’re all a part of the success story. Continuous improvement is not simply related to processes, we’re also challenged to ensure personal growth and improvement.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I hate nighttime. As a kid I was always afraid of the dark. My fear didn’t sway my desire to watch horror movies. I still dread nighttime. Let there be light!
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Provisions for family would be my first order of business (college funds, housing, etc.) Hopefully, it would be enough to also provide assistance to women homeless shelters.
