As 2019 nears its end, so does our 100th Anniversary celebration here at Standard Electric. As we reflect on this past year, we are very proud of the transformations made and the challenges overcome to be one of the top 100 electrical distributors in the nation. The legacy we’ve built is strong in the traditions of our past as we forge into the next century of Standard Electric’s story.
From our humble beginnings one hundred years ago, four visionary men started a company to manufacture light fixtures to illuminate the sparsely electrified City of Milwaukee, WI. Little did they know the founders of Standard Electric shaped the way the company still conducts business one hundred years later.
Three pillars of business were adopted by Standard Electric: Tradition, Innovation, and Service. They are just as important today as they were 100 years ago.
Tradition: the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.
Standard Electric operates on our strong sense of tradition. Quality, service, and price have been core values since 1919. Providing quality products at a competitive price delivered with the highest level of customer service is our motto. Our traditions are our identity; they make us who we are and they will continue to guide us through the next 100 years.
Innovation: the action or process of innovating; a new method, idea, product, etc.
Just as our founders were instrumental in bringing electric lighting to the Milwaukee area, Standard Electric is always searching for time saving, cost-cutting solutions and products to keep your business profitable. Industrialization, automation and artificial intelligence innovations happen at a much faster rate. Standard Electric has the success of its past to guide us in choosing the newest technologies and most innovative, future-forward manufacturing partners to keep our customers thriving. You can count on us to be at the forefront of technology for the next 100 years to come.
Service: the action of helping or doing work for someone; a system supplying a public need
We have always been a customer-centric company. Our fanatical commitment to customer service allows us to service our customers the best possible way we know-how, doing whatever it takes to make our customers happy. In 1922 our Stan-Li-Co Guide stated, “suggestions are cheerfully invited.” This willingness to listen to our customers is still a key component of our business model and will continue to be in the future.
These three pillars are a large part of Standard Electric’s continued success. As an innovative full-line distributor of electrical, automation and control products we are committed to upholding our Quality Policy to our current and future customers.
