In October of 2016 I started my role as an Application Specialist with Standard Electric Supply Co.
Taking on this role within Standard Electric has allowed me to specialize in the application of industrial control products and grow as an engineer. I have experience in all aspects of design and implementation of a range of products from relays to PLCs, and now even some robotics too. In high school I learned about engineering through a friend’s mom who worked in the engineering department at GM. However, in college I interned at an industrial manufacturing facility, gaining hands-on experience with machines and CAD, which motivated my interests in building and control. When I go to find a solution for a customer, I first dedicate time to sit and listen to all aspects of their application needs. It’s from this that the problem-solving process really takes off. I enjoy the challenge of working through possible solutions, and it’s always important to remember that there are many ways to succeed. Keeping this in mind helps me create lists of factors that I’ve used in determining a solution.
