Joe Burns is the Shipping and Receiving Manager with Standard Electric, and is based out of our Milwaukee, WI location. Get to know Joe!
What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? Why?
My favorite activity is really anything that involves spending time with my family. We love playing sports in the summer and sledding when it’s cold.
Who inspires you? Why?
I can’t say that one person inspires me. The way that people that I work with carry themselves, and their work ethic are what inspires me.
What are you currently watching on Netflix/Some other streaming service?
Big Bang Theory is a constant in our household. Whenever we finish up the series, we just start over from the beginning without even taking a break.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen/traveled to?
When I was deployed to Djibouti, Africa I had the privilege of taking a helicopter ride over Tanzania and the Republic of the Congo it was like a real-life Lion King. Elephants, Giraffes all in the wild. It was a sight that I will never in my life forget.
What is your personal philosophy? How has this guided you?
I think that the golden rule has served me well in my journey, always.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
What is the one thing you can’t live without? Why?
Gummy bears, gummy worms…absolutely anything gummy!
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I went to school to become a police officer, and then again to become a firefighter.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I would very much like to say that I would hire a financial advisor. However, not before I would buy 100 pounds of gummy bears
