Meet… Matt Stern!
Matt Stern is the Director of Quality Assurance with Standard Electric Supply Co. He works out of Standard Electric’s Milwaukee, WI location. Get to know Matt!
What interests or hobbies do you have outside of work?
My favorite outdoor activity right now is golf - I enjoy getting out with family or friends for a few hours and playing. Even though I’m not the best golfer, it’s one of the only sports I can still compete against with friends.
Who inspires you?
A lot of people inspire me, obviously my grandfather and Larry with what they have done with Standard Electric and in their personal lives.
Another person, whose book I recently read, is Robert Iger. It’s impressive to me the way he worked his way from an assistant on a TV set at ABC all the way up to the CEO of Disney with just a Bachelor's degree from a small school.
What are you currently watching on Netflix/Some other streaming service?
Yellowstone and Succession
What is your personal philosophy and how has it guided you?
Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the ways things turn out.

What is the one thing, you can’t live without?
Music - I love going to concerts! I always have music playing in the background while working or at home.
If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?
1. Continued success of Standard Electric forever
2. Good health for my family and friends
3. Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and St. Thomas Championships
What was the first concert you attended?
I went to see Tom Petty with Pearl Jam opening for him when I was 12 years old with my brother.
What is your favorite part of working at Standard Electric?
Getting to know the people at all our locations and learning from all our associate’s experiences in the industry.
