Meet… Cassie Petty!
Cassie Petty is the Vice President of Human Resourcs and Quality Assurance with Standard Electric Supply Co. She is located out of Standard Electric’s Milwaukee location. We asked Cassie 10 Questions to get to know her better!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT STANDARD ELECTRIC?
The family atmosphere. I am very proud to say I work with so many generous and thoughtful people who have pulled together time and time again whenever “one of our own” needed it. No matter how we’ve grown over the past 36 years since I’ve been here, that has been constant. What a great group of people to work with!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
I really enjoy going to outdoor “farmer’s” markets. Kenosha (before COVID) had a great market every weekend in the summer down by the lakefront. Don’t tell anybody though because it’s already too hard to find parking.
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
People who are kind and do nice things for others (without videotaping it and posting it to social media) just for the simple act of being a decent human being. It inspires me to try to be a better human being.
WHAT IS THE BEST MEAL YOU HAVE EVER HAD?
I don’t like to cook and I’m not much of a cook anyway so basically anything that someone else cooks for me is fine with me. I’m pretty easy to please and very grateful for the effort thank you very much.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WATCHING ON NETFLIX?
The last thing I watched was Audrie and Daisy. This is a documentary about two young girls and how they were treated after being assaulted. What happened to these two young girls is heartbreaking. You might have recently seen Daisy in the news. Spoiler alert: there are no happy endings here.
WHAT IS THE FIRST CONCERT YOU ATTENDED?
The first time I saw John in concert he was John Cougar, then at some point he called himself John Cougar Mellancamp and now he is plain ol’ John Mellancamp. Mellancamp is from Indiana. My favorite concert t-shirt was printed with “Hoosier Daddy?”
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY?
Treat other people the way you want to be treated. Say what you mean and mean what you say. There are some things that no one can take from you, only you can give them away. Be mindful of what those things are and act accordingly.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?
My family is everything to me. Everything. Don’t tell my kids because they already have me wrapped around their fingers. My husband already knows this so no secrets there.
IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY, WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU WOULD DO?
I’d probably have to change my phone number and get a burner phone. Then I’d start going through my family and friends list to see who needs help. Then my husband and I would start talking seriously about our retirement plans. Life is too short not to take advantage of unexpected blessings.
