Explosion Proof Enclosures

Explosion-proof enclosures contain an internal explosion rather than preventing one, built heavy enough that ignition inside cannot escape through a joint or cover into the air around them. Plant engineers fit one when a junction or control has to sit in a refinery, grain handling or paint area, when a cracked cover has broken the flame path an enclosure depends on, or when a conduit entry has to be sealed to keep the rating intact.

As an authorized electrical distributor for multiple manufacturers, we stock explosion-proof enclosures from Crouse Hinds and more across competing lines, in a range of body types, cover opening sizes and cable entry sizes, so you can match the body style and entries the install needs, compare capacities and connection sizes across brands, and preserve the flame path the rating depends on. Same-day shipping on in-stock items ordered before 2pm local time.
