Line And Load Reactors

Line and load reactors are inductors fitted either side of a variable frequency drive, smoothing current on the supply side and taming the fast voltage edges that damage motor insulation on the output side. Panel shops add them when a long motor cable is reflecting voltage spikes back at the winding, when harmonics from a drive are disturbing the supply it shares, or when a motor has failed on insulation breakdown rather than on load.
