Enclosure heaters hold a cabinet above dew point on a few watts, keeping condensation off terminals and boards when an unheated building or outdoor enclosure drops toward freezing. Service techs wire them in when a panel in an unheated warehouse throws moisture faults every spring, when an outdoor cabinet has corroded from the inside out, or when a new enclosure will sit somewhere the temperature falls below its components' minimum rating.
