Motion Encoders
Motion encoders mount on a motor shaft and turn its rotation into electrical pulses or an absolute position word, so a controller knows where the axis actually is rather than where it was told to go. Axes need one when a move has to land on position rather than near it, when a failed encoder has left a servo running blind, or when position has to be retained through a power cycle.
As an authorized electrical distributor for multiple manufacturers, we stock motion encoders from ABB and more across competing lines, in a full range of resolutions, shaft styles and output types, so you can match the shaft and output the drive expects, compare resolutions brand to brand, and recover position feedback an axis has lost. Same-day shipping on in-stock items ordered before 2pm local time.
